Estate Audit
Generate a list of all devices using your RMM tool
Identify all devices running Windows 10
Check each device’s hardware compatibility for Windows 11 (TPM 2.0, CPU, RAM)
Flag any devices 5+ years old for recommended replacement
Client Communication
Send personalised alerts to affected users and decision-makers
Explain risks in business terms: security, insurance, compliance, operational cost
Include Cyber Essentials risk if clients are certified or plan to be
Upgrade & Refresh Planning
Group devices into “upgradeable” vs “replace required” categories
Create phased deployment plans to avoid last-minute panic
Offer financing/leasing options where needed
SLA and Policy Update
Update Managed Services Agreements (MSAs) to exclude unsupported devices from SLA
Offer a “Best Efforts” support tier at premium rates for non-compliant devices (if necessary)
Confirm clients accept upgrade/refusal plans in writing
Cyber Essentials Compliance Check
Confirm no unsupported devices remain in the network scope
Document patching policies and system upgrade plans
Schedule internal CE mock audits if clients need certification renewals
Final Readiness Steps
Set up RMM alerts for any new Windows 10 deployments sneaking into the estate
Build quick dashboards to monitor Win10 vs Win11 adoption
Plan a final review 60 days before October 14, 2025
